Week #5 (Odd Week Pickup)Dear CSA Member,New this week is Purslane! Purslane is a beautiful tender green that is rich in Omega 3's and has a flavorful lemony taste. Frost Seeding
Today Pete Jr. is frost seeding clover on our fallow field. The repeated freezing and thawing towards the end of winter will cause the clover seed to fall into the cracks of the soil. The clover seed will then germinate and grow a protective covering for this field once the weather warms up. This field will rest for three years and after the two years, it will be used again for vegetable production.
